Perfectionism is an illusion

Published on: 5th April, 2022

Trust me, it is! It hinders you from progressing and it self sabotages you. Some of us are tired of ruminating over the same issues and tasks and attempting to perfect them. You stumble around and go in circles, making you fearful of taking the next move. As an entrepreneur, I believe you must recognize and be aware of this poor habit to reach your business objectives.

Perfectionism causes you to overthink things, and spending more time doing so paralyzes your business, which is harmful. Another is that perfectionism enslaves you to your ego, leading you to believe that if you don't get it right, it won't work and that you must be perfect for a client to buy.

These are just a few of the many reasons perfectionism is destructive to you and your business. In this episode, I tried to be more relevant by sharing real-life examples of why perfectionism is unhealthy to you and your business and that I give actionable tips on how to manage it.

If we allow ourselves to be open to criticism and judgment, we will receive comments and tips that will help our company thrive. Listen now and try to ask yourself questions that will help you succeed. Reevaluate your business habits now!

Must-listen Moments:

[01:41] perfectionism often shows up as things like indecision. Full stops taking absolutely no action, overthinking things. Right? And getting all wrapped up in your own ego. [08:45] Indecisiveness is a common symptom of perfectionism. Stopping in your tracks, taking no action, overthinking things—all of these are signs that you've been engrossed with your ego. Perfectionism has its drawbacks.

[11:41] The misconception of believing that if we don't get it perfect, it will never work.
