Intentional Networking

Published on: 17th May, 2022
To grow your business, you need to talk to more people. Go, girl! The bigger the circle, the better.

Whether you call it a mastermind or just a mentoring group, being in a room with other people, building their business, struggling, succeeding, winning, failing, and sharing will grow you exponentially forward.

I admit I am a fan of going out there and talking to people. As a coach, it's a skill that I should hone, but if we dive deep, networking is more than just handshakes and high-fives. I know we have our old idea of what it is, but I am happy to tell you that it has evolved, and now the spaces and events are done creatively and interestingly. I am part of four networking groups. Two of them are online, one is online and in person, and then the fourth is in-person networking, primarily with a tiny piece. I think that this is critical for you to understand how networking is a way to grow your business, meet new people, and get yourself out of your comfort zone.

Everyone can agree that you need to talk to more people to grow your business. And the biggest problem that I hear entrepreneurs have is that I don't have any new ones; How do I find new people to engage with, sell, and share my offers with?

The answer is simply networking, and in this episode, I'm going to talk to you about the different ways you can network.

Must-listen Moments:

[02:28] When finding the right place to network, I try to find somewhere that would allow me to rub elbows with my ideal clients or people who know my ideal clients regularly.

[07:11] When in the room, let them feel you're owning what you say. For example, in this one group, I am the in-person host of that event, which allows me to connect with the participants and puts me in a position of authority. So when you walk into a room and see somebody put your game face on and have that feeling of control.

[12:02 ] Please go into that networking meeting with two goals: Get in the door, and make sure that you have one quality conversation with them.
